A folding rotary hoist is a great option for households that want the generous capacity and breeze-assisted drying of a traditional rotary clothesline but with the flexibility to fold it down or remove it when needed.

 It’s perfect for medium to large families with backyard space, especially in homes where the clothesline area also doubles as a play zone, pet run, or entertaining space. The clothesline is supported by a central post that sits in a ground socket concreted into the lawn, allowing you to easily lift it out when not in use or fold the arms down flat for a cleaner look.

Most models offer adjustable height and wide arm spacing, making it easy to hang everything from daily laundry to sheets and towels. Installation usually takes around 45 minutes - 2 hours, including ground prep and securing the socket and post.

These clotheslines are built from powder-coated steel with durable polycord lines, although the lines may need occasional re-tensioning over time. It's important to remove and clean the post now and then — otherwise, it can seize up in the ground socket. Overall, it’s a strong and practical option for families wanting high capacity without permanently committing a large patch of lawn to laundry.
