Installation Post-Mounted Letterbox

Our Post-Mounted Letterbox installation includes digging and concreting the post directly into soft ground such as lawn or soil, providing a fast, cost-effective solution for front yards or nature strips without fencing — installed at the standard 900–1200mm height in line with Australia Post guidelines.

A post-mounted letterbox is the most straightforward and affordable option for homes without a front fence or wall. It’s mounted on a galvanised post that is concreted directly into soft ground like soil or lawn, making it ideal for open yards, driveways, or nature strips.

This style offers full flexibility in placement — great for ensuring clear access for posties or positioning the box close to the street. Installation is usually quick, taking around 45 to 60 minutes, and is done to the Australia Post standard height of 900mm to 1200mm from ground level.

 It’s compatible with a wide variety of letterbox designs, from simple and practical to more decorative styles. While it’s a cost-effective solution, it may not be as secure as brick-in or wall-mounted boxes, especially in high-traffic areas. It also isn’t suited to paved or rocky areas unless core drilling is included as an extra. Still, for many homeowners — especially those wanting a quick, compliant and functional letterbox setup — post-mounting is the go-to choice.
