  • Zurich Installation Flange

The Zurich Parcel & Mail letterbox by Milkcan is designed to integrate beautifully with modern fencing — but actually installing it can be a frustrating experience. The factory method works only for timber palings, leaving most other fence types (like Colorbond, garrison, and composite slats) awkward, unstable, or uneven.

That’s why we custom-fabricated the Zurich Installation Flange — a locally made, powder-coated steel mounting frame that slides over the rear of the letterbox to support, square, and lock it into place. It gives you a perfectly neat cutout, conceals rough fence edges, and provides a solid surface to clamp and rivet into.

Whether you're dealing with slats, steel, or shiplap, this flange makes it easy to get a premium finish, every time.

    Installation Process

    1. Hold the flange on the fence
where you want the letterbox installed and trace the inside edge with a permanent marker.|
    2. Use a grinder or saw with the correct blade for your material and cut along the marker line to create the fence opening.
    3. Insert the Zurich letterbox through the opening from the front.
    4. Take the flange and slide it over the rear of the letterbox. It will cover any gaps and hold the box square in the fence.
    5. Use a clamp to press the flange tightly against the back of the fence.
    6. Drill holes through the flange and into the letterbox body, and fix with pop rivets to pin them
      together.
    7. Drill again through the flange and into the back of the fence pickets, securing with additional rivets.
    8. Optionally, touch up the rivet heads with colour-matched paint to blend them in for a seamless look.
    9. Stand back and admire your work — clean, flush and rock solid.

From there, we will email a confirmation quotation including our bank details and instructions on how to make a 50% deposit payment for confirmation of the job.
